The Royal Mile
As the name suggests the Royal Mile is approximately one mile long. It is well known and connects the Castle to the Palace of Hollyrood house. It has a number of historic alleyways that connects to the city of Edinburgh and has an array of old traditional cobbled stones. The Royal Mile has a mix of shops, restaraunts and monuments and every year hosts the Edinburgh International Festival. The Royal mile is busy throughout the year buzzing with tourists who frequent it to visit the Castle on the North and Hollyrood Abbey in the South.
Hollyrood Palace
The Palace of Holyrood is the official residence in Scotland of The Queen. It stands at the end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. The Palace is perhaps best known as the home of Mary Queen of Scots. Today the Palace is used regularly by The Queen and other members of the Royal Family for State ceremonies and Royal functions.
Edinburgh Zoo
The Zoo is one of the most popular attractions in Scotland and is the only Zoo in the world to breed and house Penguins. The Zoo lies ontop of a hill and invites great views of the city of Edinburgh.
Recently the Zoo has been housing 2 pandas from China Female Tian Tian and Male Yang Guang and because of this has become an even popular attraction.
